RALEIGH – Department of Revenue Secretary Lyons Gray and State Chief Information Officer Chris Estes announced on Jan. 7, 2014 the appointment of David Roseberry as Deputy State CIO and Chief Information Officer for the Department of Revenue.
"We are excited to welcome David to the Revenue team," said Secretary Gray. "His wealth of experience will be invaluable as our department enters an important stage in the development of our IT infrastructure."
Roseberry has extensive leadership experience in North Carolina’s technology sector and was most recently the Chief Information Officer at the Research Triangle Institute. The Triangle Business Journal named him CIO of the Year in 2013, an award that recognizes individuals who have used information technology in innovative ways to create competitive advantages, optimize business processes and enable growth.
"The role of chief information officers is changing along with North Carolina's evolving technology needs," said State CIO Estes. "I know David will be an asset in providing strategic direction to our mission of modernizing IT in state government. The experience he brings will be a welcome contribution to our team of agency CIOs."
Governor Pat McCrory signed Executive Order 30 in 2013 to promote collaboration among chief information officers. As part of the governor’s matrix management model, cabinet agency CIOs now report to both their agency Secretaries and the State Chief Information Officer. This cooperative approach allows CIOs to break down silos, find efficiencies in their IT operations, and deliver outstanding service to our citizens and state agencies.
