A Cumberland County gaming store owner was arrested and charged with 11 counts of Embezzlement of State Property.

A Durham businessman pleaded guilty in Wake County Superior Court to three counts of Embezzlement of State Property.

Former assisted living businessman Charles L. Gross, Jr, of Raleigh, was arrested on felony tax charges filed by the N.C. Department of Revenue. He was charged with nine counts of Embezzlement of State Property.

Mecklenburg County businessman Matt R. Coben, 63, of Boynton Beach, FL, pleaded guilty to three counts of Embezzlement of State Property.

The deadline for filing state individual income tax returns with the N.C. Department of Revenue is Monday, April 15. Electronically filed returns must be submitted electronically by midnight on April 15. For taxpayers filing via paper, returns must be postmarked by April 15 to meet the deadline.

Mecklenburg County businesswoman Trudi Ann Zangardi, 70, of Moorseville, was arrested on felony tax charges of Aid and Abet Embezzlement of State Property.

New Hanover County businessman Marteke Latwuan Franks of Sneads Ferry was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 15 on felony tax charges filed by the N.C. Department of Revenue. He was charged with five counts of Embezzlement of State Property.

The NCDOR began accepting individual income tax returns on Monday, Jan. 29.

The NCDOR will begin accepting tax year 2023 individual income tax returns on Monday, Jan. 29. For calendar year taxpayers, the due date to file income tax returns is Monday, April 15.

Mecklenburg County businessman Mark Ethridge, 64, pleaded guilty in Wake County Superior Court to three felony tax charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
