Local Government Information Unit

The Local Government Information Unit is the primary contact point for County Certification Forms (TR-1), Municipal Certification Forms (TR-2), Public, Educational, and Governmental (PEG) Channel Certifications, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Disbursement Certifications, Certification of Amounts Disbursed During the Twelve-Month Period Ending June 30, Property Tax Rate Tables, and publications of county and municipal reports and statistics.

Education Program

The NCDOR provides a certification program for assessors and others engaged in property appraisal for counties and municipalities. This program qualifies individuals to appraise property and determine value for ad valorem taxation purposes.

Property Tax Commission

The Property Tax Commission is a separate body from the Local Government Division, established by the General Assembly to hear appeals from County Boards of Equalization and Review.
