Important Information for Motor Carriers - July 2011

Effective August 1, 2011, Motor Carrier license and decals will only be issued at our Raleigh Office. Due to organizational changes within the Department, the Greensboro office stopped issuing license and decals effective June 1, 2011, and our Charlotte office will stop issuing license and decals effective August 1, 2011.

On or after August 1, 2011, requests for license and decals may be directed to us via mail, telephone, fax, or in person to our Raleigh office as shown below. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.

Note: Effective with the 2012 renewal period, license and decals may be requested online.

The 2009 General Assembly enacted legislation authorizing the Secretary of Revenue to mandate electronic filing of IFTA returns.

Effective with the third quarter 2011 IFTA return, licensees that were issued 5 or more decals during the previous registration period will be required to file electronically.

Effective with the fourth quarter 2011 IFTA return, licensees that were issued 3 or more decals during the previous registration period will be required to file electronically.
