Power of Attorney Request Submitted

Congratulations, you have submitted your request for a Power of Attorney (POA). Your POA is not yet active until all parties complete Step 1.

Step 1 – Signing Electronically in 'DocuSign'

DocuSign will email a signature request to each taxpayer and representative listed on your Form GEN-58. All parties must sign electronically using DocuSign in the following order:

  • Primary Taxpayer
  • Secondary Taxpayer
  • First Representative
  • Second Representative
  • Third Representative

Step 2 – Receiving Confirmation from DocuSign

DocuSign will send you an email confirmation that all signatures are received and the document is complete. If you do not receive a completed copy of the POA, please contact the other individuals listed on the POA to complete their electronic signature request (see Step 1 above).

Step 3 – Processing by NCDOR

Your signed GEN-58 is sent to NCDOR for processing.  This process is completed within 3 or less business days.  Taxpayers and representatives will not receive any communication from NCDOR confirming receipt of a valid Form GEN-58, Power of Attorney.
