RALEIGH – A High Point businesswoman was arrested Wednesday on felony tax charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Jill Gilstrap Clodfelter, 47, of 426 Edgedale Dr., High Point, was charged on February 22, 2017 with one count of Embezzlement of State Property.
The arrest warrant alleges that Clodfelter, President of Regional Site Solutions, Inc., aided and abetted the corporation to embezzle, misapply and convert to its own use $105,457.00 in North Carolina Withholding Tax during the period January 1, 2011 through June 29, 2016. During this period of time, Clodfelter was the responsible person of Regional Site Solutions, Inc., and was under a duty to collect, hold in trust, and remit North Carolina Withholding Taxes to the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Clodfelter appeared before a Wake County magistrate and was placed under a $100,000.00 bond. A first appearance is scheduled for February 23, 2017 in Wake County District Court in Raleigh.
The charges against Clodfelter resulted from an investigation by a special agent with the Department’s Criminal Investigations Section in Raleigh.
