Raleigh
Jan 17, 2014

RALEIGH – A Lillington woman was arrested Thursday on felony tax charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.

Gloria A. Moore, 51, of 45 Lomie McLean Lane, Lillington was charged on January 16, 2014 with one count of Obtaining Property by False Pretenses and one count of Uttering Forged Instrument.

Arrest warrants allege that Moore filed a false North Carolina individual income tax return for the tax year 2009 claiming a refund and representing income and withholding from a business for which she never worked. Moore was also charged with one count of Uttering Forged Instrument in the form of a false Wage and Tax Statement, for the same year.

Moore appeared before a Lee County magistrate and was placed under a $10,000 secured bond. A first appearance was scheduled for January 30, 2014 in Wake County District Court in Raleigh.

The charges against Moore resulted from an investigation by a special agent with the Department’s Criminal Investigations Section in Raleigh.
