A Boone couple was arrested on June 4, 2020, as a result of Wake County Grand Jury indictments for felony and misdemeanor tax charges filed by the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office on behalf of the North Carolina Department of Revenue.

A Charlotte woman was arrested Friday on felony tax charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.

Crystal Luree Phillips, 46, of 1423 Briar Creek Road, Charlotte, was charged on May 8, 2020 with nine counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretenses.

The North Carolina Department of Revenue will officially open the 2020 individual income tax filing season and begin accepting and processing individual income tax returns on Monday, Jan. 27. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will open federal tax filing season on the same day.

The North Carolina Department of Revenue (NCDOR) officially opened the 2020 business income tax filing season and began accepting Corporate Income and Franchise, and Partnership tax returns Thursday, Jan. 16. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) began accepting business income returns Jan. 7.
